Using cookies

Extensive information on the use of cookies under Directive 2009/136 / EC, “Cookie Law“.

Cookies are used to make our web spaces interesting and suited to the tastes and needs of users as well as to improve their browsing and purchasing experience and our product and communication offer.

They are useful for administering our web spaces, collecting and analyzing data about users behavior on them in order to personalize and improve their personal experience.
A cookie is nothing more than a small text file that is stored in the directories used by the user’s web browser – on his computer, smartphone or other devices – when he visits the Site and that contains information that is used for the operation efficient and effective web spaces.
The cookie, therefore, serves to help the site to recognize the user’s devices in his subsequent visits.

To give a simple example, cookies allow:

  • do not re-enter the same information during navigation (eg login input and password for comments or newsletter subscription, etc.);
  • analyze the use of the Website to optimize the browsing experience;
  • identify the computer through the information stored on it every time it connects to the site.

They do not collect information that directly identify the user and it is possible at any time to disable or delete them.
Only we can access cookies created by our web spaces, while the user can control their own cookies through the features offered by browsers.
To do this, you will have to find the information related to your browser or use the appropriate Help pages.
If you do not want to receive them, you can set the browser to be warned of the presence of a cookie and so you can decide whether to accept it or not; you can also reject them all by activating the appropriate option in the browser itself.
The choice of disabling cookies could however hinder the use of certain functions during navigation.

Cookies can be “first party” (those that report the site as a domain) or “third party” (those that are related to external domains.
Third-party cookies are necessarily installed by an “external owner” and are not managed by the Site.
There are different types of cookies:

Technical cookies

This type of cookie is strictly necessary for the proper functioning of certain sections of the Website.
It is those used for the sole purpose of “to transmit a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the subscriber or user to provide this service “ (see article 122, paragraph 1, of the Code).
They are not used for other purposes and are normally installed directly by the owner or operator of the Site.
They are of two categories, persistent and session:
persistent cookies: once the browser is closed they are not destroyed but remain up to a pre-set expiration date;
session cookies: are destroyed every time the browser is closed. In particular browsing or session cookies , guarantee the normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate to access restricted areas); they are in fact necessary for the proper functioning of the site.

Analytical cookies

Cookies analytics, similar to technical cookies when used directly by the site operator to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site, in order to improve their performance. These cookies collect data in an anonymous form and can be sent from the Site or from third-party domains.

Analysis cookies and third-party services

These cookies are used in order to collect information – anonymously – on the use of the Site by users such as the pages visited, the time spent, the origins of the traffic of origin, geographical origin, age, gender and interests for the purpose of marketing campaigns.
These cookies are sent from third-party domains external to the Site, such as Google Analytics or Slimstat.

Integration cookies – products and functions, third-party software

This type of cookies integrates features developed by third parties within the pages of the site such as icons and preferences expressed in social networks in order to share contents of the site or for the use of third-party software services (such as software to generate maps and additional software that offer additional services).
These cookies are sent from third-party domains and from partner sites that offer their functionality between the pages of the Site.

Profiling cookies

These cookies are necessary to create user profiles for sending advertising messages in line with the preferences – even navigation – expressed by the user while surfing the net, not only on the site.
The consent of the interested party is required for the use of profiling cookies. According to the provision (more information in the paragraph on cookie management below) the user can authorize or deny consent to the installation of cookies through the options provided in the “Manage cookies” section.

Cookies do not collect information that directly identify the user and it is possible at any time to disable or delete them. To do this, the user must find the information related to his browser or use the Help pages.
If you do not want to receive them, you can set the browser to be warned of the presence of a cookie and so you can decide whether to accept it or not; you can also reject them all by activating the appropriate option in the browser itself.

– Open Safari;
– Click on Safari & gt; Preferences , click Privacy, and then do one of the following:

  1. Change which cookies and website data are accepted: select an option for “Cookies and website data”:
    – Always block: Safari does not allow websites, third parties or sponsors to store cookies and other data on your Mac. This may prevent some websites from functioning properly;
  2. Allow only from the current website: Safari accepts cookies and data only of the website you are currently visiting. Websites often have content embedded from other sources. Safari does not allow these third parties to store or access cookies or other data.
  3. Allow from websites I visit: Safari accepts cookies and website data only from the sites you’ve visited. Safari uses existing cookies to determine if you have previously visited the website before. Selecting this option helps prevent websites that incorporate content from other websites to store cookies and other data on your Mac.
  4. Always allow: Safari allows all websites, third parties and sponsors to store cookies and other data on your Mac.

– Remove cookies and archived data: click on “Manage website data”, select one or more websites, then click Remove or “Remove all”. Data removal may reduce the possibility of being tracked, but could also stop access to websites or change their behavior.

– Change the frequency with which websites request location information: select an option in “Using the location services web sites”:

  1. For each website you request once every day: for every website you visit, Safari will notify you once a day that you are asked to use the location services.
  2. For each website you only request once: for each website you visit, Safari will only notify you once that the location services are required.
  3. Reject without asking: access to location services is denied to all websites and Safari does not require it.

– Ask websites not to track activities: Some websites keep track of browser activity when they provide you with content, which allows them to better tailor what you are presented to your needs. You can have Safari ask the sites and their third-party providers (including sponsors) not to keep track of your activities.
If this option is enabled, whenever Safari collects content from a website, it submits a request to keep track of your activities, but it is their websites that ultimately decide whether or not to comply with it.
